Position: Project Manager – Pipelines - Compliance

Location: Lloydminster, Alberta, Canada

 

Position Summary

The position reports to the Director and is responsible for providing pipeline regulatory compliance subject matter expertise and consulting support for EPCM’s oil and gas industry client on an ongoing major Pipeline project.

This 3-month contract position will likely be renewed for 6 to 12 additional months.

 

Responsibilities

  • Make recommendations and be involved with important decision making on highly technical and complex aspects of a pipeline infrastructure project. Able to put together rough concepts for execution by others.
  • Actively leads project planning, resourcing, staffing, de-staffing, supply and subcontract management through the Energy Services
  • Prepare and execute Project Management Plans including Work Plans, Risk Management Plans, Safety Plans, Quality Plans, and Communications Plans.
  • Define, Develop and Document multiple dependent or independent Project Budgets & Schedules, approve changes to baseline / estimates and new forecasted dates.
  • Define scope and create WBS, verifying scope and following procedures to monitor and control changes on project.
  • Reviewing design, engineering and procurement schedules to ensure compliance with project schedule, estimate and procurement plan.
  • Proactively manage deadlines and ensure appropriate communication is provided (to relevant parties) when schedule and cost conflicts arise.
  • Assess project resources’ capability to accomplish current and future assigned work and initiate actions as required to meet commitments.
  • Mentors and instructs team members on design requirements, schedules and cost estimates on project.
  • Ensures project results meet requirements regarding technical quality, reliability, schedule and cost.
  • Reviews drawings, budgets and contractor quotations for cost optimized contracts and profitability.
  • Building mutually beneficial internal/external client relationships through the relentless pursuit of excellence.
  • Builds an inclusive, high-performance culture based on respect and support.
  • Manages diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Project management responsibilities include a solid understanding of:

  • Revenue Forecasting

Requirements

Must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident.

Qualified candidates will possess a Bachelor of Science degree in a relevant Engineering discipline from an accredited university. PMP designation is a plus.

Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of all applicable Pipeline regulations, including a working knowledge of the Canadian and Provincial referenced standards.

Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to appropriately target communication to intended audience, ranging from leading presentations with all levels of a client’s organization to interactions and meetings with a variety of agency stakeholders.

Must possess advanced-level MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project Management software skills.

10+ years’ experience in the oil and gas pipeline industry.

 

Location
